I love the winter unless last night. The water ran along the walls from the attic to the living room. A frozen pipe under the roof was blown. Last night we slept in my office because of the water. This afternoon the plumber came to help us. After all that misery my new boots came in from the brand Green Comfort. Wonderfully warm and amazing fit. Our home is still cosy with the flowers.

This morning I received beautiful vintage buttons from Babs a sweet woman from our village. Here mother collected vintage buttons and she had read the newspaper article with my story. Last week there was already a sweet man with jam-jars full of old buttons. Many thanks! This morning I went to the Wibra-store and bought this cute blue plastic elephant. It is filled with chewing gum on a roll but once empty too cute to throw away. They also had the Golden booklets from the "Fabeltjeskrant". Our weekend begins!

Here some tips:

1. Crimpy dimpy ( shrink plastic) figures like a heart hanger for here doggie Woefie and a Pippi Longstocking key-chain. We used cookie-baking forms.

2. Hama beads making nice hangers. 

Buy the Paper doll fairies from the Tiger they are great! Lovely fabrics and decoration to pimp up the carton doll's. She loves them.

This morning we cleaned the home from christmas tree and all other christmas stuff time for a new year.

Lots of vintage buttons I received yesterday by post from one of the "Buitenleven" readers( one of my bracelets is this month in the magazine). Thanks allot Rianne! I'm very happy! The vintage Swedish horse I found a few days ago in the secondhandshop. Fresh flowers in the vase we can start the new year! For christmas I received the four seasons of Rie Cramer children books in needlework from my grandparents. Every new season I can put a new one in my home. The cribb can stay for a while it is so sweet.The handy family calendar I bought at the Hema store.

Pleuntje at home with the flu. To make here happy I made my favorite Oatmeal cake. She loves it.
 
 Recipe: Oatmeal 250gr, 175gr butter, light brown sugar 125g, 60g raisins, two large tablespoons of syrup, coconut 50gr.
 
Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat with the syrup there. Weigh it all out in a large bowl and add the melted butter / syrup. All well and stir in baking paper filled with molding and press down considerably. The cake approximately 15-20 minutes in a 180 degree oven.

It is our popular quick cake for all kinds of celebrations. Often I make this cake for school. Is is very easy to make and people love it!

Preparing our home for christmas-time. I made a winter wonderland with paper trees made on the sewingmachine. Pleun made a nice paper guirlande for in the tree from the vintage christmas book of Lis Paludan. Pictures of my 5 december sinterklaas gifts like the new book of Sif Orellana and the Japanese paper from the Tiger store. I made lots of new christmas decoration for my webshop like the Duft lys. Today at the secondhandshop I bought this lovely vintage apple tray. Together with some vintage christmas decoration and the candles. What a great color! I made this year the advent-calendar for Pleun from paper christmas bags from Ikea with different Santa prints on it. Looks great together on a vintage fabric. The book I show on the pictures is "Homemade" from Denmark. Beautiful pictures and pages full with new creative ideas from fabric and wool. Today we went to a beautiful flower garden with flea-market in Nes aan de Amstel. Together with Harm & Pleun we found a great white plastic character barge and a vintage Bingo game. We pick our own flowers in the beautiful garden with coffee and apple pie. After that we had a great time in the garden with the kids. Noor bought a big sausage for in the pool at the Hema. Nice for the summer holiday because we visit two different campsites in France with swimming-pools. The Indian cress is getting flowers.

Harm was spoiled by his two girls for Father's Day ( we did it a week to early! oopsie). Our son ( Teun 14 years old) is in high school so he doesn't make presents anymore. Hooray Pleun is now 4 years old! We said goodbye on the kindergarten and she really goes to school tomorrow. Today we celebrated her birthday with all the kids in the neighborhood and the playgroup. Yes I have concurrence of my own daughter. She is running here own business in jewelry with here friend Nina in our street ( 11 years old!). Yesterday I went for a quick-stop to the Ikea nearby to buy some Elderblomflower syrop and other small stuff for Pleun's birthday next week. Now I discovered the Ikea Gooseberry jam. It is lovely on toast with pate! The vintage Swedish wall decoration I found at the secondhand shop last week. Nice with the blue chairs. The Elderblomflower juice recepy I found in the in the latest Bolig-Liv and allso very nice. Hope you can translate it because it is Danish. What a discoveries!

After Greece I did allot of daytrips with the kids. For Pleun the first time in Oud Valkeveen a tiny adventure park nearby our town. She loved it! And we went to the beautiful garden of Sperwerhof.

In the meanwhile I made lots of new bracelets ( in the evening!).
Now they are back to school.From my mother I received these beautiful Rhododendrons flowers. We used them allot on my weddingday. So they are special to me.

Last satherday I visit my favorite secondhand shop in Kortenhoef and bought this vintage 70's vase and the mirror. Together with the vintage flower fabric. Nice for easter.Then I went to the gardens of Sperwerhof and bought these beautiful flowers for the new vase.Such a beautiful place and relaxed atmosphere.
